Made from dissecting and recombining illustrations from 19th Century novels and encyclopaedias, Une Semaine de Bonté is Max Ernst's surrealist collage masterpiece from 1934. Taking the format of a graphic novel the work was originally released as five pamphlets, with each page adding to an enigmatic narrative and an unsettling aura of absurd and violent malice.
Reprinted in 1978 by Dover Publications, Une Semaine de Bonté is available in book shops and on Amazon.co.uk.
